Campus Question – January 9, 2013

Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)

Today White House Press Secretary Jay Carney would not expressly rule out platinum debt coins, saying “On Plan B, there is no backup plan. It is Congress’ responsibility to pay the bills of the United States. This is not about future spending. [...] Congress has to pay the bills of the United States.” Also, several media sources are reporting that President Obama will nominate White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew for Treasury Secretary. Should the Squirrel stop shopping for a blue clown nose?

    Today on Campus

Morning Feature – addisnana with “Oh Crap!” or Aging Sewers
Furthermore! – The Squirrel with Send In the Clown
Midday Matinee – addisnana with Time Travel and the Tea Party
    Our EarthStudying Coupled Human-Environment Interaction

The Washington Post‘s Greg Sargent read Carney’s statement differently, as a more definitive rejection of the platinum debt coin. Maybe. The Squirrel is actually pleased, as he’d planned to keep living at Árbol Squirrel – Jack Lew still lives in the Bronx – and you can guess how the Squirrel felt about commuting to D.C.

I think the squirrel should keep shopping for the blue nose. We have a new cabinet nominees to confirm, the debt ceiling, sequestration, immigration, gun safety/regulation…. sooner or later the blue nose will be needed.

Thumbs up on the blue nose……..
