Today Gov. Chris Christie (NJ) excoriated House leaders for dropping a Hurricane Sandy relief bill, saying “I was offered assurances as late as last night at 9pm” that a vote would be held. After saying earlier that “Anyone from New York or New Jersey who contributes one penny to the Republican congressional campaign committee should have their head examined,” Rep. Peter King (R-NY) said he spoke with Speaker John Boehner and that House votes will be held for $60 billion in relief by January 15th. Can the Speaker stave off GOP political cannibalism?
