Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
On Saturday LoHud.com published an interactive map of all pistol permit holders in New York’s Westchester and Rockland counties. The permits are public information in New York, yet The Gateway Pundit howled: “It’s easier to take away the guns if you know where they are.” Gun industry backers say guns deter crime, yet NewsBusters said publishing the addresses may make those homes targets for burglars. And despite the lie that guns would have stopped the Holocaust, the Jawa Report likened the map to yellow stars. Where’s their gun owner pride?

If these “proud gun owners” really believed having a gun at home makes them less likely to be targeted for crime, and will keep the “jack-booted thugs” away, shouldn’t they be thrilled to have their information published?
LoHud – which serves the Lower Hudson Valley – published public information, and at least some commenters at these and other gun industry support sites are calling for lawsuits. Yeah … good luck with that….

What a load of malarkey. I thought people owned guns to protect themselves so they don’t have to fear burglars. And aren’ t they proud of exercising their right?
I have read so much bs on this subject since Newtown that I want to barf. Seriously.

Westchester and Rockland counties sure do have lots of dots. I would think that gun owners would see this as a deterrent. There’s no figuring this out logically. I’m no longer trying.
