Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Last Friday Bill O’Reilly blamed the LGBTs for the ‘War on Christmas,’ on Monday Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia compared LGBT relationships to murder, and last night Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) compared marriage equality to the Civil War. Should we compare holier-than-thou conservatism to anthrax, the bubonic plague, or the common cold?

Oh, I think rabies, toxoplasmosis, or Naegleria are better choices. They all damage the brain, and it’s apparently what has happened to various conservatives.

How about we compare the conservatives to the Emperor in The Emperor’s New Clothes? Stripped of their slogans and dog whistles, they have shown themselves to be naked of any good ideas.
I don’t know even diseases to be clever about those kind of comparisons.

If the so-called “Christian Right” are going to compare my relationship to murder, war, etc. … then I think it’s time to compare them to a disease. But I can’t decide what disease.
The disease is communicable, because you have to teach people to hate that way. It’s passed in conservative churches and right-wing news outlets. They call their position “natural,” but germs and viruses would probably make the same defense if they could talk.

My choice would be methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus areas (HA-MRSA) infections.
