Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Yesterday the Washington Post scolded Mitt Romney’s parting gifts attributing his loss to President Obama “giving a lot of stuff” to hardworking Americans. In today’s USAToday/Gallup poll, President Obama’s approval rose to 58%, and a judge rejected Rep. Allen West’s demand for a recount after his loss to Pat Murphy in Florida’s 18th District, despite Gov. Rick Perry’s intervention on West’s behalf. Should we conclude that tonight’s Leonid meteor showers will not end the world five weeks early?

Hmm… hard to say, but I’ll put my money on the answer being “yes.” That is, the Leonid showers will not end the world. Call it a hunch.
Speaking of legal cases, the hearing in the Mississippi ballot challenge (Orly Taitz) is still going on. It’s expected to wrap up in an hour. From the “duck out and report during recess” people in the courtroom, Orly is having a pretty tough time of it.

In his put down of all Democrats bearing ‘gifts’ Mitt Romney said:
I think it is a great idea and wonder if Mitt will crawl out of the woodwork to take credit for it.
Oddly, most Republicans are taking pains to distance themselves from Magi Mitt. Most are now positioning themselves as the “not Mitt” candidate. What a difference ten days makes.
I bought some new jeans today. I intend to be wearing them when the world ends, whenever that is. I patched a 20 year old pair yesterday. They are comfortable and wearable and pretty tacky. Okay, they are really, really tacky.

Oh, and today Gen. Petraeus said the Obama administration’s talking points on the Benghazi Consulate attack were worked out with the CIA, who did not want to mention the known Al Qaeda role because the CIA and administration did not want to tip off suspects.
With all that good news … I think we’re probably safe from the meteor showers tonight … at least until the Mayacalypse.

31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will certainly not pass away. 32 However, when that day and hour will come, no one knows — not the angels in heaven, not the Son, just the Father. 33 Stay alert! Be on your guard! For you do not know when the time will come. Mark 13:31-33

But but but…the Mezo-American long-count calendar, used by the Maya and many other Central American pre-Columbian peoples, will tick over a new meta-cycle on December 21st! That has to mean something. There have been History Channel documentaries and everything. Could all of those hucksters be wrong???

For a modest sum (your life savings will do), you can buy my “end of the world kit.” Along with a handy guide to special ways to be raptured, and how to insure that you don’t hit any debris on the way up.
If the world does not end on schedule, I promise to say oops.

But you are listening to angels and praying to the son. For a free will offering I
can show you the true way the Father commanded..

Does your end of the world kit include a choice of beverages?
