Campus Question – June 11, 2012

Tonight’s question, greetings, and social banter here. (More)

Tonight’s Campus Question
Today former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said neither Ronald Reagan nor George H.W. Bush would be welcome in today’s GOP, adding that his father’s agreement to raise taxes as part of a budget deal was “helpful in creating a climate of more sustained economic growth.” Anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist quickly fired back, saying “There’s a guy who watched his father throw away his presidency.” Do you prefer popcorn plain, buttered, or with cheese?

Jeb Bush may be just the person to tell Grover Norquist to take his pledge and shove it. If Grover wants to dictate GOP policy someone ought to tell him to just run for office and otherwise stuff it.

I do think that George Bush’s trip to the grocery store where he was amazed at scanning technology had more to do with his loss than taxes. Oh, and my thanks to Ross Perot too.

I only like the butter and salt, not the popcorn.

Lightly buttered with a small dash of salt….

Please note, the man has legally changed his name to Jeb Jesus Lincoln Reagan.

    😉 😉

Yes, I well-remember that price scanner dustup. I wondered that more people didn’t think it was a BHD! How isolated was the guy?

  • Gardener

Um, was he just being polite in leaving out Junior?

Food truck unloading went very well, IMO….. Harley Rich handled the upstairs, receiving position. I was the loader, as usual…… We stayed behind after the others left, measured for electrical work unrelated to conveyor. There are several freezers, Harley Rich says they ought to be on dedicated circuits……

I may have mentioned, I asked Rich if he owned any shirts that didn’t say Harley-Davidson. He replied that, yes he does, but they say United Mine Workers……

Tough-as-nails Harley dude, union organizer, 40 year UMWA member, non-church goer, does free electrical work for the needy. Quite the guy! Proud to have him for a friend.

Good to hear that your conveyor project is moving along so well. You and Rich are quite a pair of helpers. I bet the food pantry folks are so thankful that you guys showed up and they probably don’t care what the T-shirts say with the help they are getting.

  • Heavily buttered, thank you, with salt.

What I think you’re seeing is the beginning of a major battle within the Republican Party, between the “old guard,” who realize that compromise is a necessity in governing, and the hard-line “purists” who have taken over much of the party.

    Pan pop with peanut oil.

There were words of wisdom from Bush at the end of the article.

“We’re in very difficult times,” he said. “We’re in decline.”
