In 2008, Mitt Romney famously wrote “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.” Today his campaign claimed credit for Detroit’s recovery, with senior advisor Eric Fehrnstrom saying “The only economic success that President Obama has had is because he followed Mitt Romney’s advice.” Was Obama advisor Robert Gibbs accurate when he told Meet the Press host David Gregory that the Republicans’ 2012 message is: “You didn’t clean up our mess fast enough?” |

Man, that’s disgusting beyond belief. Obama followed Romney’s advice on the auto industry? After a blaring op-ed in the NYT where Romney said to let the auto industry go bankrupt? Do they really think they can sell that?
My head is just spinning!

Having spent the past year on the Republican primary trail calling President Obama’s rescue of the auto industry “crony capitalism,” Mitt Romney now wants to take credit for it? Really?
Paul Krugman was right: Romney is counting on voters having amnesia. It’s up to we grassroots Democratic activists to make sure voters know who rescued the auto industry … and who wanted to let it fail.

I do NOT have amnesia and I so hope the Democratic ads from wherever point out Mr. Etch-a-sketch in all his flip flops. I will be pointing them out to fellow volunteers, people I call and canvas and Fred whenever I meet him or her.
What a piece of slime. Mitt Romney may be “severely conservative” but in my book he is “severely slimy.”
I am having a “severe” Sunday. I may or may not change to another word tomorrow, but for today, I am taken with the messaging possibilities of “Severely.”

Robert Gibbs was more accurate when he told Meet the Press host David Gregory this:

All together now, with feeling, Osama Bin Laden is dead, General Motors is alive!
