Campus Question – April 13, 2012

Tonight’s question, greetings, and social banter here. (More)

Tonight’s Campus Question
It’s Friday the 13th, a factor Kim Jong Un might have considered before his missile test. Rumors that Newark Mayor Cory Booker and the BPI Squirrel played roles in the North Korean failure may be exaggerated, but less so than presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney telling the NRA that President Obama created new laws “to burden lawful gun owners.” Is Romney making up lies about gun control because Americans favor President Obama’s proposed Buffett Rule by a 60-37 margin?

    The Squirrel saves the world:

This is at least as true as anything Mitt Romney said today.

  • Of course not! Mittens needs no reasons to lie, it’s his nature!

Yes, it’s kinda like asking an Etch-a-Sketch why it isn’t the Louvre…. 😉

    😆 😆 😆

I am one degree of separation from the famous BPI squirrel. Yes!

    • I sent Madame Secretary the macadamias as a joke. I didn’t expect to be drawn into international intrigue! Of course I can’t talk about anything that I might or might not have been involved in….

Romney forgot to shake the etch-a-sketch. This is the current lie about the Buffet rule. Kevin Hassett, an economic policy adviser to Mitt Romney, told the Financial Times

“Then there is the question of income inequality, with Democrats pointing to the Buffett rule as one vehicle for tackling the wealth gap that has grown in the US in recent decades. However, Mr Hassett argues: “The number one reason why income inequality has moved in such a negative direction recently is unemployment – when you’re unemployed your income moves to zero.”

The lie there is that his implicit claim that Democrats think the Buffett Rule, alone, will solve the problem. We don’t. The Buffett Rule is one pellet of what Jonathan Foley called “silver buckshot.”

He keeps making up lies, because the media lets him get away with it! There’s only one problem he has to run against the real President Obama, not the fantasy one that the right has presented to this country. I saw CNN had a poll that showed Romney has the highest unfavorable rating that has ever been nominated by his party.
